Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

GreenDial (“we”, “us”) is a free AI health companion operated at greendial.org. Contact: mickey@theservicesexchange.com.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use GreenDial, we may collect:

• Account credentials — username and passphrase you choose at signup.
• Profile and health-related content — details you share in chat or settings (goals, preferences, check-ins, activities, optional identity fields such as email or wallet address).
• Conversations — messages you send to Doc and specialist agents, and AI replies stored with your account.
• Usage data — server logs needed to operate the service (e.g. request times, error traces). We do not sell advertising profiles.
• Push notification tokens — if you opt in to push reminders (browser or app), we store subscription endpoints so we can send check-in reminders you requested.
• Device/local data — language and UI preferences in your browser or app local storage; session tokens so you stay signed in.

3. How we use information

• To run your account, chat, suggestions, activities, sticker board, and related features.
• To personalize AI guidance based on your profile and conversation history.
• To send optional reminders you enable.
• To improve reliability and fix bugs.
• To respond to support or feedback you send us.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for marketing.

4. AI processing

Chat messages and relevant profile context are sent to third-party large language model providers (via our configured API gateway) to generate replies. Those providers process content to return a response; they are not used by us to sell ads. Avoid sharing highly sensitive identifiers (e.g. Social Security numbers) or detailed clinical records you would not want processed by cloud AI services.

5. Storage and security

Account data, conversations, and profiles are stored as JSON objects in DigitalOcean Spaces (S3-compatible object storage). Traffic to greendial.org uses HTTPS. GreenDial is not HIPAA-compliant and does not claim hospital-grade controls. Passphrases are used for authentication; treat them as secrets and do not reuse important passwords.

6. Sharing

• Infrastructure providers — hosting, storage, and LLM APIs needed to run the service.
• Shared sticker boards — if you generate a public board link, anyone with the link can view that board.
• Legal — if required by law or to protect the service and users.

7. Mobile app

The GreenDial Android app is a wrapper around the same greendial.org service. It uses network access to load the site and call APIs. Optional notifications, if enabled, use the same push subscription mechanism as the web app (or native push if added in a future release). This policy applies to both the website and the app.

8. Children

GreenDial is intended for adults (18+) or minors only with parent/guardian consent, as described in the HIPAA waiver at signup. We do not knowingly market the service to young children.

9. Retention and deletion

We keep account data while your account exists so the product can function. To request export or deletion of your account data, email mickey@theservicesexchange.com from a contact method we can associate with your account, or use in-app account deletion if available.

10. Your choices

• You can limit what you share in chat and profile fields.
• You can disable push reminders in Settings (when logged in).
• You can clear local storage / uninstall the app on your device.
• You can request account deletion as above.

11. Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy for new activity.
